For some it seems what matters most
Is Facebook and the chance to post
But if they listened, they’d have heard
That “post” is not a simple word.
“The post” is parcels, letters, cards
The postman brings to doors and yards.
It’s used in quite a different sense
To mean the wood that holds a fence.
Another post that needs no stamp –
A lamppost has on top a lamp.
“Post” also means a job or role:
“The post of teacher is his goal.”
With “Keep me posted!” you can say
Please send an update every day.
